Mr. Kious is a lifelong Bay Area resident, growing up in San Francisco. He has lived in the North Bay since 1990 and in Mill Valley since 1993. He has served on the Almonte Sanitary District Board of Directors since 2008, and the Sewerage Agency of Southern Marin (SASM) Board of Commissioners since 2009. He was first elected President of the SASM Board of Commissioners in 2011 and still serves as President of that Board. He was elected to the Marin LAFCo in 2015 as an alternate and re-elected in 2019 as the special district member. Lew is a successful businessman in the high-tech industry and has worked in technical, sales, and executive positions. He began government service as a means to contribute to the community that he loves, Marin County. With his long residency in Marin County and his strong contacts throughout the Bay Area, he is well-acquainted with the issues and concerns of Marin’s citizens. His motivation for serving on Marin LAFCo is to provide a strong voice in representing the constituents of Southern Marin.
